Welcome to the June meeting of the Florida K-12 AI Education Task Force, proudly co-located with the FSBA/FADSS Annual Summer Conference.
As AI rapidly reshapes the educational landscape, Florida’s district and governance leaders are uniquely positioned to spearhead proactive policy and responsible classroom implementation. Today’s meetup serves as a collaborative forum to align our collective vision, dissect shifting state frameworks, and share actionable blueprints directly from the field.
We have a robust agenda lined up to tackle these priorities:
- Task Force Updates & Goals for 2027: A high-level look at our strategic trajectory and milestones for the coming year.
- The Landscape of Florida Policy: An analysis of current state legislative movements, guidelines, and compliance expectations impacting AI deployment.
- EDSAFE AI Policy Lab & Scenario Activity: An interactive update and hands-on session designed to unpack real-world ethical, safety, and operational challenges.
- District Lightning Talks: An open floor for district leaders to share quick, high-impact updates on how they are navigating AI adoption, policy drafting, and professional development locally.
- Closing & Debrief: Synthesis of the takeaways and setting immediate next steps.
We look forward to members bringing their expertise, questions, and insights to the table. Let’s work together to ensure Florida leads the nation in safe, innovative, and equitable AI education.
